Agence de l'eau Adour-Garonne
[Adour-Garonne Water Agency]
A centre of incitation and concertation to preserve and manage the water resources of the basins of the rivers Adour, Garonne, Dordogne and Charente more efficiently.
The Water Agency is a public establishment of the Ministry for Ecology and Sustainable Planning and Development that implements the water policy directions alongside the Basin Committee. The Agency calls upon the solidarity of the population by contributing to the funding of works and actions relative to:
- Reduction of pollution;
- Preservation of the continental and marine aquatic environments;
- Reasoned and sustainable use of water resources;
- Knowledge of the state and evolution of resources.
It uses the water taxes, paid by all categories of the population who use the water from the basin, for this purpose.

Laboratoire Départemental de l’Eau
[Departmental Water Laboratory]
Since 1977, the Departmental Water Laboratory managed by the General Council of the Haute-Garonne has become a reference tool in terms of expertise, prevention, control and water quality management consultancy.

Migrateurs Garonne Dordogne (MIGADO)
Created in 1989, its objective is to restore and manage the migratory fish in the Garonne Dordogne basin. It initiates and carries out most of the actions devoted to these species: Atlantic salmon, sea trout, allis and twaite shad, sea and freshwater lamprey and eels.
